COLOMBIESTAD BASIC INFORMATION NETWORK
REGULATIONS CONCERNING REGISTRATION, PUBLICATIONS, AND REFERENCE
COLOMBIESTAD is the basic Information Dissemination network made up of an Internet portal http://www.colombiestad.gov.co and information centers (see annex), which offers both the national and the international communities a reference tool in the field of information.
1. User Registration
The Colombiestad portal allows users to participate interactively through the publications found in the following sections: Monographs, Papers, and Theses; Tell us About Your Town, and Forums.
In order to do this, Colombiestad requires the user to register with a user name and a password. Users may also voluntarily submit additional information, which will be stored in the portal’s user database. The user is advised about the non-mandatory submittal of information in order to access the services of the Colombiestad portal. However, failure to submit said supplementary information may affect the excellent service we wish to provide.
Thus, we have an automated database with personal information created by and for COLOMBIESTAD and under its responsibility, with the purpose of facilitating our contact with the Users and advising them about our information services and activities related to the portal. Therefore, this information does not belong to the public domain.
Colombiestad is not responsible for those violations of the regulations by any user, which may affect the rights of another user or of third parties, including copyright, brands, and patents rights, as well as confidential information, and any other intellectual or industrial property right.
2. Regarding the publication and use of information
Registered users may submit academic documents about social, economic or demographic issues to be included in the Monographs, Papers, and Theses section. Colombiestad reserves the right to publish or reject the papers and the images, graphs and/or photos accompanying them, on the basis of their content, and of the informational and conceptual relevance of each paper.
Likewise, users may submit papers about the social and linguistic characteristics, as well as the customs, of the country’s different regions.
The user and/or the author are solely responsible for the consequences, damages or actions that could possibly derive from the authenticity and the access to the contents of the papers, graphs, images and photos, as well as from their reproduction and dissemination, in conformity with Circular No. 6 of April 15 of 2002, issued by the National Copyright Office, and with Law 23 of January 28 of 1982.
Users may participate with their opinions, conceptual contributions, and questions, in the context of the Thematic Forums provided by the webpage, For this activity, Colombiestad will appoint a moderator who reserves the right to reject questions or comments that do not refer to the topic under discussion, or that jeopardize the integrity of the portal and of the other participants in the discussion of the assigned topic.
Those web pages wishing to use the information found on the Colombiestad portal may place a banner providing direct access to the latter, thus acknowledging the source of the data, by previously consulting with Colombiestad and indicating the size and the format. In case this procedure is not followed, the primary sources of the information, as well as the website where it is found, must be cited.
Colombiestad cannot be held accountable for the opinions, concepts or theses set forth by the author, expert, guest or participant who develops a specific topic during the Forums.
COLOMBIESTAD is the entity in charge of disseminating the quality certification process for the basic official information produced by DANE through the Andean Center for Advanced Studies, CANDANE, in conformity with Decree 3851 of November 2 of 2006, as well as the information coming from the different Information Producing Entities identified by the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics- PENDES-.
The veracity and accuracy of the information published in the Colombiestad portal is the responsibility of each one of the Information Producing Entities and academic, government, private, and social institutions providing the information. Colombiestad reserves the right to reject information that does not conform to the thematic nature, informational relevance or conceptual pertinence of the portal. In case the information is used, it must be cited according to what is stipulated in Law 23 of January 28 of 1982.
